ISS Solar Transit Print E-mail

ISS solar transit    After a long time spent waiting for the "right" International Space Station (ISS) transit across the solar disk, during which I lost most of my hair, gained a few pounds and the world has seen 2 world wars and invention of steam engine, it finally happened. Nice, clear and sunny day, transit occuring in the east where my window is pointing, and in the morning hours just before going to work. Of course, the good old Murphy just had  to come for a visit: I didn't focus very well, forgot to adjust my camera to speed shooting and, worst of all, I couldn't watch "Magnum" TV series.

At 5:57:06 UT, the ISS appeared on the northern limb and in a blink of an eye it was already on the southern limb. In all the excitement, I barely managed to take 3 photographs, kick the flowers off with my foot and smash my elbow on the chair. But there it was, a little dark "something" on the 2 photographs. See for yourself and click the left image, try to find ISS on two locations on the Sun. With a little imagination even the solar panels can be seen.
