Third in the country! Even Thales from Milet, although he predicted the first solar eclipse, could not predict that Astronomical Society ANONYMUS will be so successfull on regional and state competitions. That is confirmed by the 3rd place of our member, Filip Novoselnik, on this years' state competition of young astronomers, held in Vela Luka on Korčula island in the Adriatic Sea. Credits also go to mentors Ivica Skokić and Goran Kurtović.
State competition of young astronomers was held on Korčula, from May 16.-19. Members of the Astronomical society Anonymus were there also, like almost every year. Mentored by Ivica Skokić and Goran Kurtović, Filip Novoselnik returned home as third in the 8th grade category. After tests, in which Filip scored 34 points reaching temporarily 4th place, he had to present his practical work. Filip's practical astronomical work was "Determination of physical characteristics of Saturn and Titan". Hours spent observing and analizing data payed off, when his work was awareded with maximum 25 points by the commitee which brought him final 3rd place. Certainly one of the greatest successes of Anonymus members on competitions. CONGRATULATIONS!
