The official site of International Year of Astronomy 2009. in Croatia, has been set up a couple of days ago, and it isavailable at http://www.astronomija2009.org . Aside from the most important information about the IYA2009., you can find the list of projects which will be done throughout 2009. in Croatia, as well as from us. Also, you can find links to astronomical societies included in the project, and a calendar of events for 2009. The men in charge: HAD (Croatian Astronomical Society).

 It has been 400 years since Galileo Galilei showed the world beauties of the night sky through the first telescope. Tee aim has stayed the same in a new project of the International Astronomical Union together with UNESCO, called International Year of Astronomy, 2009. It's mail goal is to offer more and more people the opportunity of observing the night sky through telescopes.
In Croatia, the organizational nod belongs to the Opservatory in Zagreb, and we've joined the project together with them. Our mail goal will be to popularize astronomy in Valpovo and Osijek, first and foremost, through observational sessions available to public, as well as lectures. All that awaits in 2009. Get ready!
