Croatian meteor network (HMM) has established cooperation with Janko Mravik, amateur astronomer from Bačka Palanka. Janko installed his camera so it is overlapping with other cameras and first results are already here! This bright meteor was captured simultaneously with our and Janko's camera, so it will be possible to find its orbit. From these two images we can see that Janko has done very good work overlapping his camera to ours! Source: Hrvatska meteorska mreža Read 0 Comments... >> |

Here's a little update about our participation within the Croatian Meteor Network. As you already know, one of the 15 cameras is located in Valpovo, at our club, on our building. So that you wouldn't think we just sit around and do nothing, in the last couple of weeks we've begun processing captured frames. Here's a short description of the process. Read 11 Comments... >> |

The camera we got from Croatian meteor network attached to our headquarters has been having some malfunctions recently. The sphere got blurry and made it difficult for the camera to capture meteors and even stars, software issues as well, but we've managed to fix it all and put everything behind us, with the help of our network chief, Damir Šegon. The cam is capturing frames normally now every night, among other frames, this one has two meteors at the same time, even going the same way. Between them you can see the Pleiades and Taurus constellation. Soon we will get into image processing and hopefully return some stunning images. The projekt is full speed ahead! The camera we got from the Croatian Meteor Network has just been installed, on the east side of our headquarters. Sunday afternoon was a perfect opportunity to drill the wall and plug in the camera. Like Ivica said: "It began as usual, Anonymus style, without keys (taked cared of by Maki and Mile), without the screws, electricity, ideas or ladders, tools. But it all ended great, with traditional soft drinks and food, as a reward to our job well done! Read more about the Croatia Meteor Network here. Photogallery of our Sunday's activity >>

Although still in early stages, the Croatian Meteor Network means business! Recently captured meteors from more locations simultaneously will enable the determination of their heights. The network is equiped with highy sensitive cameras located all around Croatia, for meteor observation. Read 13 Comments... >> |
