Although the sky was completely covered in clouds, we decided to set up our telescopes on the city square in Valpovo, last Saturday. And people actually showed up, with kids, youger and older, but the clouds were simply merciless. They threw their own Galilean Night party. And we were talking to everybody who came about the International Year of astronomy, about Galileo and our club, when it started to rain!

Nevertheless, a few of our members held up a few lectures back at our headquarters open for public, which is again a part of the "Galilean Nights" project, and very useful when the weather is awful. We posted in on YouTube, and they're in Croatian. Check them out by clicking on "Read more".

    Last Saturday, on July 4, Filip held a lecture on our participation in the Croatian Meteor Network (CMN), and on its operations in the first year. For those of you who couldn't make it, we've uploaded the complete lecture on YouTube, available only in Croatian.

   Astronomy club "Anonymus" is a significant part of the Network. A year ago, a camera was set up on our building, and since then it has continuously been capturing frames of the night sky in search for meteors. Mr. Filip Novoselnik brings out the most important facts about our work and the Network in general.

    Astronomsko društvo "Anonymus" uključeno je u projekt Hrvatske meteorske mreže (HMM). Kamera za snimanje neba postavljena je na zgradu Doma Tehnike u Valpovu 2008. godine. Od tada se svakodnevno snima noćno nebo u potrazi za meteorima - obrađuju podaci, izrađuju radovi i priručnici, određuju putanje i visine meteora i sl. Filip Novoselnik odgovaran je za rad "Anonymus"-a u Mreži, te iz prve ruke donosi kakve rezultate postižemo!
